National Nursing Home Week in Tell City

Editor’s note: Beverly Healthcare in Tell City, Ind., held numerous celebrations during National Nursing Home Week this year. This article describes some of the events.

Beverly Healthcare will be celebrating National Nursing Home Week May 8–14. On Sunday, May 8, a Mother’s Day Tea was held in Station 2-4 dining room. Monday Elvis will perform in Station 2-4 dining area at 2:30 p.m., and a Red Hat Society social will be held at Station 2 dining area 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the residents will host a baby shower to benefit the Healthy Family Program. Thursday, Hank Williams will perform in Station 2-4 dining area at 10 a.m., [and an] ice cream social will be held Thursday at 2:45 p.m. A coffee and doughnut social will be held in Station 2-4 dining area Friday at 9:30 a.m.

Healthy Family Program

The Beverly Healthcare Resident Council hosted a baby shower for the Healthy Family Program. The Health Occupations Class, residents, staff, volunteers and relatives donated items. Games were played and refreshments served. [Among those participating were] residents Hazel Winchell, Frieda Kleaving and Faye Badger, and Crystal Moskos, supervisor of the Healthy Family Program.
