Dialysis is the process of cleansing the blood by passing it through a special machine. Dialysis is necessary when the kidneys are not able to filter the blood, and the process allows patients with kidney failure a chance to live productive lives.
There are two types of dialysis: hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Each type has advantages and disadvantages, and patients can consult with their doctors to determine the type of long-term dialysis that best matches their needs.
If you or a loved one must rely on dialysis, we believe you deserve a program that is as convenient and stress-free as possible. Our dialysis program is designed to meet your treatment needs and fit into your busy schedule.
Our commitment to care is simple:
• Provide you a basic understanding of kidney disease, associated risk factors, potential lifestyle modifications and available community resources.
• Educate and encourage you to actively participate in your treatment to restore self-confidence, reduce anxiety and offset any negative emotional effects caused by kidney disease.
• Provide an individualized treatment plan that promotes independence.
• Offer flexible scheduling and convenient hours for dialysis treatments in a relaxing, stress-free environment.
• Provide family members the educational tools and support they need to care for a loved one with kidney disease or failure.
We also offer a full spectrum of customized treatment services that include:
• Tips and training to help you remain as active as possible
• Education about acute kidney failure and end-stage renal disease
• Nutritional planning and monitoring to support dialysis treatment
• Fluid management
• Infection control
• Psychological support and coping skills for both you and your caregivers to minimize the stress of adjusting to your dialysis
